Sleeping Giant CampingAugust 14-17 TC’s Sleeping Giant camping trip is a week away! If you’re planning to come but haven’t signed up yet, there’s a sign-up sheet on the table at the outdoor service, or you can let Lauren or Rachel know. The group campsite, Marie Louise Campground B, site G2, will be available for check-in after 2:00 PM on Thursday, August 14th. Please do not plan to arrive or access the site before that time. On Sunday, August 17th, we must check out by 2:00 PM. Everyone attending is responsible for bringing their own camping gear and meals. If you are bringing a trailer or motor home that requires power, please bring an extension cord. If you have any questions about finding gear or a ride to the site, feel free to chat with Lauren or Jeremy. The campground itself is already paid for, but just a reminder that there is a vehicle entrance fee that each car owner will need to cover. The weekend will be relaxed with no set agenda, other than a time to gather and worship together on Sunday morning. If you’re not able to stay overnight, you’re still welcome to come out and spend one of the days with us. If you’re planning to join, consider bringing a board game you’d like to teach or a lawn activity the group might enjoy. We’re looking forward to a fun and restful weekend together! lauren@transformtbay.com rachel@transformtbay.com jeremy@transformtbay.com |
Be A BereanBitterness to Praise - Two Mother's Sagas When the painful, difficult, seemingly destructive circumstances of life press in on us, what are we looking at? How do we respond? As long as we live in this broken world before Jesus comes back to make everything new, there will be trouble. Jesus said in John 16.33 “I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” Peter said in 1 Peter 4.12 “Dear friends, don’t be surprised at the fiery trials you are going through, as if something strange were happening to you.” And Paul said in Romans 8:28 “ And we know that all that happens to us is working for our good if we love God and are fitting into his plans.” We will be looking together this Sunday at the life of Naomi, and Ruth, her daughter-in-law, and their responses to the extremely difficult circumstances of their lives – fleeing a famine, moving to a new country, losing sons, and husbands. The little book of Ruth in the Old Testament has four short chapters, I encourage you to read the whole thing and take careful note of the attitudes and responses of these ladies. Looking forward to worshipping with you on Sunday! Blessings, Jeremy
