Two Bay Adult and Teen Challenge students will share their testimonies. Katie will share a ministry update and Tim will share a sermon.

We will take up a special offering for this ministry, so if it's in your heart to bless them, you can come prepared.

Join us for an 11-week video-based program presented by GriefShare facilitators with guided workbook discussions and minimal homework. 

For anyone dealing with the loss of a loved one or struggling to move forward after a loss. Former participants are welcome to repeat and share experiences.

Volunteer roles are also available (prayer, hospitality, promotion, continued care, facilitation) We are hoping to train other facilitators who would like to lead a GriefShare group.

Last year some of us attended the Men's Retreat at Round Lake Bible Camp. It's coming up again. Pastor Adi from West Fort Baptist will be the speaker with Jonathan Wilson from Lakehead Baptist Church as the musician.

Some of us will gather for a breakfast at Transformation Church, and perhaps other others of us will head out for breakfast and the day at Round Lake Bible Camp Men's Retreat.

We will be reliable as we practice honesty with God, ourselves, and others. 

This week we will have the opportunity to look Luke 15:11-31. This story is famously titled "The Prodigal Son."

Read all of Luke 15. Notice why Jesus tells this story. 

Read the story in terms of reliability and honesty. 

The older brother prides himself in his reliability. He does all the right things and carefully cares for the farm, but when the father throws a feast, for the younger son, who has been unreliable,  the reliable older son is deeply angered and refuses to participate.  

In a strange subversion of the typical way we'd expect this story to end, the younger, "unreliable", has become become close with The Father. The older "reliable" son has become unreliable as he fumes outside the house. He blames the Father. He blames the younger son. The story leaves us with bated breath. We are left hoping that the older brother's anger cools and that he asks the Father for forgiveness.  

The story leaves us hanging. What will the older brother decide? What must happen in his heart before he enters into the party? 

Might this story better be titled "Two Prodigal Sons"?
